How to create Effective Postcards

Either postcards are popular again as a way of advertising or cheap postcard printing is available here. I am saying this because of late, there has been an increased number of postcards in my mailbox though some of them are not that effective in delivering their message.

If you are using postcards for your company, there are a few tips to keep in mind when designing your postcards. You have to remember to make your postcards effective in getting your customers' attention as you only have a few seconds to capture their attention.

The first tip is of course the 3-second rule in reference to capturing the attention. It simply means if your customer does not understand what your postcard is for, chances are, it is going to be thrown away. The person who picks up the postcard must be able to understand what you are offering and how to get it in the space of 3 seconds.

Telling what the Offer is, is the next tip. An offer is always interesting, be it a special offer, a discount or a free gift. The offer is what gets people interested and that drives them to action. Your postcards will need to focus on promoting the offer, not your business.

Next, Tell them why you are the best at what you do once you have their attention. Tell them about your low prices, great service, etc., but bear in mind that this information does not compete with your offer at hand.

Many a time customers are lost because there is no clear Call to Action. You have to spell out what your customers can do to respond. Do they have to go to your store or website to redeem your offer or are they supposed to call in for more information? Your Call to Action will need to give them direct and clearly-defined instructions what is required of them to do.

Of course besides the offer, an eye-catching image could be just the thing that has the recipient of the postcard attracted enough to want to keep your postcard to find out more about your company.
