Know more about Acne

Battling an acne problem? Here's a site you may want to check out - getacnetreatments.com. It has a lot of information on acne and reviews of a long list of acne treatments.

Acne is not only a problem for teenagers, but for many adults as well. So what causes this skin condition?

Popular belief has it that acne is caused by dirt. It is typically caused by the abnormal shedding of dead skin cells around our hair follicles. Our skin is covered with hair follicles and when one becomes blocked by dead skin, oil and dead cells build up which causes swelling and redness.

Hormonal changes can also cause acne as at puberty and in changing estrogen levels in women.

Whatever the cause, there are effective treatments out there that can help to reduce the build-up of dead skin cells and to keep pores and hair follicles clear.
