Assembly at British High Commission

Yesterday, my company issued a circular urging employees to avoid a certain part of town this Sunday. There is news of an assembly of an estimated crowd of some 50,000 gathering at the British High Comm in Jalan Ampang to deliver a petition to the Queen.

Roadblocks have been set up in the Klang Valley as part of crime-prevention activities in the lead-up to the illegal assembly.

If you are interested, more information can be found on "Three charged" which is The Star's frontpage news today, while The New Straits Times carries "Shouting match in court".

Personally, I hope nothing untoward happens tomorrow. For those of you in Kuala Lumpur, it would be wise to stay away from the city center. Also, if you are living around the area, it's best to stay home.
